J.B. Harris Group
Container & Port Drayage operations

Container & Port Drayage.

Container pickup, transloading, and drayage at Savannah, Brunswick, Jacksonville, Houston, Baltimore, and Tacoma.

ISO container freight is high-volume, repetitive, and unforgiving on the back-end — meaning the carriers that look the same on a quote sheet don't perform the same on the dock. JBH covers drayage at all major US ports and major rail ramps, with a chassis pool that scales with seasonal volume and private chassis for accounts that need them.

Where the freight needs to come out of the container before it can move further inland — transload — we have the dock space and the labor to handle 40-foot HC destuffs into trailers without delay. C-TPAT certified for bonded freight. Importer-of-record-friendly paperwork.

Coast-to-coast container moves on JBH equipment for accounts where chain-of-custody matters more than spot-rate optimization. If your container is moving import-bonded high-value freight, you don't want it sitting at three transfer terminals.

HOW WE WORK

Quote to delivery, one ops team.

  1. 1

    Send the specs

Equipment, weight, dimensions, origin, destination, and any site constraints. A spec sheet or photo helps — but a phone call works too.

  2. 2

    We engineer the move

A JBH operations engineer routes it — bridges, restrictions, low clearance — prices permits, picks equipment, and assigns the driver. Quote back in 4 business hours.

  3. 3

    We dispatch and track

Our truck, our driver, our dispatcher on the BOL. You get one point of contact and status from pickup to signed POD.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What you can count on.

  • Engineer-quoted rates

Routed by a person, not an algorithm — permits and escorts priced in, not added later.

  • Asset-based capacity

Our trucks and trailers. We don't broker the hard ones out to a stranger.

  • One ops team

The dispatcher who quotes your load is the one who runs it — no brokered re-handoffs.

  • Live dispatch, 24/7

A real agent answers — never voicemail — for the life of the move.

FAQ

Container Logistics — common questions.

How fast can I get a container logistics quote?

Send the details through the quote form or email quotes@jbharrisgroup.com. We come back with a rate, route, permits, and timing. For urgent moves, call 770-251-8921.

Is JBH asset-based or a broker?

Both. JBH runs 35 company trucks with a full trailer mix out of our Equipment Processing Centers, and a vetted carrier network for everything else. Oversize and heavy moves run on our own authority.

Does JBH handle permits and escorts for container logistics?

Yes — permits and pilot-car/escort coordination are handled in-house across the jurisdictions we run, and priced into the quote up front.

What information do you need to start?

Equipment or commodity, weight, overall dimensions, origin and destination, any site constraints (overhead, access, security), and your required pickup window. A spec sheet or photo is helpful but not required.

Got a container logistics move in the planning?

Tell dispatch what you're moving and where. Engineer-quoted rate back in hours, not days — route, permits, equipment, and ETA window included.
